Why Brand Identity
Matters

Authority

AeroSTEM Academy is a free, public charter school on the Sutter County Airport Campus in Yuba City, California. With double-digit academic growth in math and ELA at the middle school level, a dedicated 10-to-1 student-to-staff ratio, STEM pathways including Project Lead the Way and UC Davis C-STEM, and a campus-based hybrid A-G approved high school model, the school has proven it delivers real outcomes in a community that needs it most.

Retention

Families choose AeroSTEM Academy because it values every student as a person. Small class sizes, two adults in every core classroom, one-on-one tours led by the Executive Director, and a culture of personal follow-up turn enrolled families into long-term advocates. In a school where the preferred tour ratio is 1:1, every family feels seen before they ever sign a form.

Growth

With open seats in 5th grade (15), 6th grade (10), 7th grade (7), and high school independent study (12), AeroSTEM Academy is positioned to grow at exactly the moment Yuba City families are seeking a serious STEM alternative to the traditional district model. A strong brand makes the decision easy before a family ever steps on campus.

Top Parent Objections — Addressed

1
No sports programs — AeroSTEM Academy focuses resources on STEM pathways, academic rigor, and clubs like Robotics, eSports, Chess, and Gardening. Scholars build teamwork, strategy, and competitive discipline through these programs every day.
2
No music or art offerings — The school's strength is deep, hands-on STEM education. Scholars use 3D printers, drones, Micro:bits, and Arduinos — creative tools that develop the same innovation and self-expression that traditional arts aim for.
3
No transportation provided — Many families carpool, and the school actively helps connect families for shared rides. The campus experience — two adults in every classroom, tutoring four nights a week — is worth the drive.
4
Too much effort to switch schools — Enrollment is straightforward: birth certificate, proof of residence, immunizations. No fee, no uniform, and the team confirms availability within 3 days of complete registration.
5
The school is not academically strong — That perception belongs to the past. Double-digit growth in math and ELA at middle school and year-over-year gains in high school. Academic data is improving every single year.

Header & School Name

AeroSTEM Academy Primary Logo

Primary Logo

AeroSTEM Academy Secondary Logo

Secondary — Competition Only

Usage Rules

The Header logo is for documents and digital headers. The Primary (circle badge) is the main logo for general use. The Secondary (winged mark) is reserved exclusively for competition contexts: robotics, eSports, and similar events.

Brand Consistency

When producing documents with the AeroSTEM name, always use approved fonts and colors. If approved fonts are unavailable, do not pair the logo with non-brand typography. All logo files are in the AA Brand Assets folder on the staff drive.

Misuse

Do not stretch, rotate, recolor, or apply drop shadows. Never place on low-contrast backgrounds. Never mix logos, fonts, and colors outside the approved set. Always capitalize STEM in AeroSTEM (it is an acronym).

STEM Learning in Action

Students working with 3D printers, drones, Chromebooks, Micro:bits, and Arduinos. Prioritize natural classroom light, candid concentration, and authentic hands-on engineering moments. Avoid staged compositions. Show the real work: two adults per room, small groups collaborating, and scholars building things they designed themselves.

Community, Clubs, and Campus Life

Showcase the diversity, joy, and resilience of the AeroSTEM family: Robotics Club competitions, Chess matches, Gardening harvests, eSports tournaments, Friday Night Live events, and the one-on-one tour experience. Images must reflect belonging, safety, and the warmth of a school where every scholar is known by name.

09
09Communication

Voice &
Tone

01 — VOICE

Resilient and Forward-Looking

AeroSTEM Academy communicates with the quiet confidence of a school that is growing, improving, and proving itself every year. Messaging embraces the "fail-forward" mindset that defines the school's culture. We acknowledge where we have been and speak clearly about where we are going.

02 — VOICE

Personal and Welcoming

Every message should feel like it comes from someone who will know your child by name, because at AeroSTEM Academy, they will. The voice is genuine, warm, and built on the relationships that start with a one-on-one tour led by the Executive Director.

03 — VOICE

Innovative and Hands-On

AeroSTEM Academy's voice reflects its STEM identity: practical, curious, and excited about building things. Communications lean into the language of making, designing, and engineering solutions. We do not just talk about STEM — we show scholars using 3D printers, flying drones, and writing code.

04 — VOICE

Honest and Community-Centered

AeroSTEM Academy speaks with families, not at them. The school does not oversell or make promises it cannot keep. We are transparent about what we offer and what we do not. We encourage families to visit other schools too, and trust that the experience speaks for itself.
